Hey Reader, It probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise that the topic of “reproductive rights” is something I feel pretty passionate about. There’s also no question that there’s been an upsurge of conversation around this topic recently, and unfortunately, a LOT of it is coming from a deeply fear-based place. What you might be surprised to hear is that I take a bit of a different stance on “reproductive rights" than I used to even a few years ago… Eventually, I’ll share more about what I really think it means to have “reproductive rights” {hint: it’s not what the media claims it to be}, but for now, what I want to share is this:
The more we live in fear of what our bodies are capable of and designed to do, the more we will look outside of ourselves to “fix” what it is we fear. 🚫 This is how we come to fear our fertility & the feeling of being at the mercy of some unknown, hormonal inner workings… leading us to act from the belief that our only options are ones where we flatline or our hormones or have to beg Daddy Gov’t for the resources to to “save us” 🚫 This is how we come to war against the size of our body… relying on diets, pills, and fashion trends to “fix” what’s in the mirror instead of getting curious about what this body shape is offering and asking of us. 🚫 This is how the upwelling of rage or deep sadness that sets in during Inner Autumn can overwhelm… and so we take it at face value — either offloading onto those around us or spiraling further into negative beliefs instead of asking what the overwhelming feelings are pointing our compass to. 🚫 This is how we find ourselves relying on a medical system for answers to fix what was never “wrong” in the first place… even after it has failed so many of us. I don’t know about you, but I am so very, very D O N E with frantically looking outside of myself for all of the answers when that approach has, time and time again, failed me. This is why I believe it is absolutely crucial for women to cultivate a deep understanding of our cyclical female health — beginning with a more empowering narrative about our monthly fertility cycle. Most of us did not receive much {if any} education about what happens throughout the monthly cycle, much less an education that made us feel powerful and in awe of our cyclical body wisdom. I want to change that for us. TWO WAYS TO RECLAIM YOUR BODY’S WISDOM:2️⃣ Are you in VT or NH? Come join me IRL on Thursday!Join me for an in-person evening of learning, self-care, and community as we explore how Earth-based wisdom can support us in embracing our cycles more fully and with reverence. ✨ “Safety lives within me” ✨ 👆 this is a line from a poem that poured out of one of the women who circled up with us for the inaugural Spill the Tea gathering in honor of Mary Magdalene on her Feast Day. she shared how her poem surprised her with unveiling a deeper understanding of the ways she’s rejected the feminine in her life—all in the name of safety. yes, sister, yes. everyone on the call could feel this SO deeply. it was such a potent reminder & part of the wisdom that we explored in...
hey Reader, can you feel it...? there’s a quiet remembering happening in the hearts of women everywhere. it’s a hunger for truth. a desire to reclaim what was lost. a fire to tell our own stories. “until the lioness learns how to write, every story will glorify the hunter.” — African proverb before I was the tea witch behind Garden of the Moon… before I was an herbalist, health coach, or learned to walk with the Moon & my womb… i was a Women’s Studies major in undergrad. i still remember the...
